Big turnout for karate grading

BEXHILL Shotokan Karate held their quarterly grading at the Bexhill Leisure Centre.

It was a long day with specific classes held for beginners, intermediate and advanced students, followed by a testing grading exam. All the students taking part had to display abilities in Khion (basics), Kata (form) and Kumite (sparring).

Particularly pleasing was the fantastic turn-out from the juniors who did well after all their practice. In fact, everyone performed impressively with many being graded up to the next level.

The club has been based in Bexhill for 17 years and it is encouraging to see a new generation of junior students studying so hard at the skills required in this complex martial art.

Special thanks to the club's longest serving member, Paul Evans 2nd Dan, for his help on the day in taking one of the training sessions. For more information about the club, courses and events, contact Ian Hollidge on 218993 or (07708) 394410.
