Bognor judo students learn from martial arts experts

Instructors covered a number of martial arts including judo, ju-jitsu, wado ryu karate and battojutsu.
These courses provide a chance for club members to be taught by high-grade instructors from other clubs. They then have a wider understanding of the underlining principles that run through and are common to most of the traditional martial arts.

Hide AdWith 15 black belts and ten kyu grades attending from five different clubs who had travelled from as far afield as Havant, Lee-on-the-Solent, Trowbridge and Northampton, it was a very good turnout.
The weekend also marked the ‘celebration of life’ at Crawley Crematorium for Peggy McCarthy, wife of the late Dominick ‘Mac’ McCarthy, eighth dan, founder of the Zen Judo family, who passed away on October 1.
The Bognor club were represented by a number of instructors and a cheque for £50 was made to the Alzheimer’s Society on behalf of the Zen Judo family.
