Bognor runners in the Zone in Hampshire

ToneZone members were well represented in two events in Hampshire.

The Portsmouth Coastal Half Marathon started at the Pyramids in Southsea and took in some fantastic views across the Solent.

The route included Southsea seafront and Old Portsmouth in perfect conditions for the 817 runners.

Eight members of Bognor club ToneZone participated and they were blessed with low temperatures on this fast flat course.

Marius Vitkauskas was first Tonezone member home in 1hr 28min, with Stuart Thomson coming in at 1.49, Jonathan Clayton 1.50, Grace Natoli 1.59, Steve Poole 2.01, Paul Dines 2.06, Kelly Dines 2.17 and Peter Chittenden 2.17.

The Meon Valley Plod, a 21-mile cross-country event, took place and included three ToneZone runners.

The annual event is always a challenge even for hardy runners and this year was no exception.

Advertised as ‘not for wimps’ it certainly lived up to its name with 19 miles of the route across country and with snow, hills, icy puddles, extreme cold and plenty of mud all playing their part.

Ian Bayley completed the race in 3hr 30min, followed by David Butler in 3.48 and Miyako Scott in 4.31.
