Bowled over by Macbeth event

GULLIVERS and Sidley Martlets were the triumphant teams at the 52nd annual Macbeth Charity Bowls Competition at the Polegrove Bowls Club.

The trophies were presented by Rother Council chairman Cllr Ron Dyason and Bexhill Mayor Cllr Joy Hughes.

The main reason for the event was to raise money for the Royal National Institute for the Blind and this year's proceedings added another 693 to the 27,000 already amassed since the competition's inauguration by well-known local benefactor David Macbeth in 1953.
