Boxing club show
WEST Hill Boxing Club's annual show will take place at the ATHA Showbar tomorrow (Saturday) evening. There are expected to be approximately 16 bouts and competitors will be arriving at the Little Common Road venue from places such as Brighton, London, Portsmouth and even the Midlands.
"We've got most of our boys matched," said West Hill coach Dave Bishop, "and it's looking very good."
The pick of the junior bouts pits promising West Hill talent Sid Smith against last year's national Golden Belts champion John Day, while the top-of-the-bill fight features West Hill light-welterweight John Verlander.
Doors will open at 7pm and the action will get under way at approximately 8pm. Tickets, which are priced at 10 for adults and 5 for concessions, will be available at the door.
