Jones has now bounced back from two unlucky defeats to earn himself a World top-15 ranking.

Jones said: “I’d like to fight Lee Selby again for the World title.

“He was lucky to get the decision the first time. If it had been any longer he’d be in trouble - that’s my opinion and I think he thinks that as well.

“He’s a great fighter, don’t get me wrong. It would be good for me and a fantastic fight for the fans as well. It’s a big one.

“Lee’s from Wales. It could be in London, at Matchroom, at Wembley or anywhere. It’s all politics and nothing to do with me.

“He’s the World champion and doesn’t have to fight me in any way, shape or form.

“I’d love that fight as it’s a lovely fight for me to enjoy. I’d love that to happen.”

Jones explained his recent decision to switch weights to the lighter featherweight class was because he can gain access to the big fights.

He said: “I’ve always been in-between super-featherweight and feather. I’ve just jumped to feather (from super-feather to feather) as it was open to me so this was exactly where I went.

“There were a lot of supporters here from Crawley which was great and there many who watched on telly who thought it was great and next time will want to come and watch in person. There were a lot of people who really enjoyed themselves.”
