Bognor boxer Griffiths won't skip a fundraising effort

BOGNOR pro boxer Liam Griffiths is winding down the season with an hour-long skip on the beach for a worthy cause.

The switch-hitter will be on the west side of the pier, opposite the Pixie Hotel, with his rope at midday this Saturday.

He is skipping in aid of Cancer Research UK ... while dressed as a 118 118 runner with a black wig and moustache.

“It’ll leave me open to a bit of stick I know, but I don’t mind as long as I raise a decent amount of money,” he said.

“Sandra Sheed, the manageress of Pizza Hut, is doing a great job raising money for the charity with her staff. After talking to her and hearing how passionate she was, I had a burning ambition to do something.

“Cancer devastates so many lives so I count my blessings every day for my health. I’m so grateful for all the help and support I’ve received and feel giving a little something back is the very least I can do.”

Griffiths thanked those who had helped him raise money, including his own sponsor A1 Barbers. Any sponsors can ring 07861 657452 or get in touch on Twitter@BUCKOGRIFF.
