Chichester's big night of boxing takes shape

Saturday, January 26, sees St Gerards Amateur Boxing Club present their annual black-tie boxing evening at Westgate Leisure, hosted by the Rotary club of Chichester Priory.
The event will raise much-needed funds for St Gerards ABC and Chichester Boys’ Youth Club, helping them address anti-social behaviour in a very positive way.

Coach Jon Mills - known as The Terminator by the boxers because of the intense and painful circuits he pushes them through -said: “The lads are all extremely fit and have all gone that extra mile to perform to their best on the night - it should be truly awsome for all to witness.”
Matchmaker Gerry Lavelle is promising a cracking line-up for the night with some mouthwatering contests for the crowd and for special guests who will be supporting the night.
He said: “These include two open-class contests of the highest calibre - and the return of my youngest son Billy Lavelle to the amateur code should be a cracker as well.

“We also have seniors Chris James, Mark Chandler, Daniel Grant, Xavier Southerton, while making their debuts are seniors Germaine Malcolm and Laurence Houari - and to top it all off, pugilistic policeman Pete Outen will be in action.”
