LITTLEHAMPTON Amateur Boxing Club’s Mark White has reached the finals of the Junior ABA National Boxing Finals in Mansfield this weekend.

White, 15, will face James Richardson, from Scunthorpe, in the class four 1997-born under-75kg event on Saturday afternoon after winning his semi-final last weekend. He beat Ryan Wilson, from Trumpington, in the last four at the Heart of Portsmouth Boxing Academy.

Littlehampton coach Steve Bailey said: “Ryan was a messy boxer, who did not allow Mark to box at his best. However, Mark was able to deal with Ryan’s awkward style and by the third round was in command of the bout, winning by unanimous decision.

“This is a great achievement for Mark, who has shown both dedication and determination, having trained extremely hard to reach this stage in the competition.

“It is also a fantastic result for the Littlehampton Amateur Boxing Club in only their third season affiliated to the ABAE.
