Brewers East Sussex League

THE season kicked off in sunshine on Saturday which did not help last season s Premier Division champions Wadhurst United as they surprisingly lost 3-1 at East Hoathly. Simon Khalil scored for Wadhurst while Spencer O Neill and two own goals clinched the points for the home side.

Icklesham Casuals started their season by winning 5-2 at Punnetts Town in Division One, and in Division Two Old Town & Pevensey won 3-1 at St. Leonards Socal. Max Gosney scored for Wadhurst United in a 1-1 draw with Hastings Rangers, while Rye & Iden United beat Westfield 3-1 in Division Four.

Little Common hit nine against Old Centmodians in Division Five with goals from Ian Rise (4), Martin Main, Jamie Hunt, Nikos Vlassis, Naseer Hutchinson and an own goal. Crowhurst won 4-3 at Victoria Baptists, while the highest score of the day was accumulated by Hellingly Hospital in Division Six as they thumped Hastings Rangers 10-0 with goals from Stewart Kennedy (3), Chris Neale (2), Robert Knight (2), Peter Cooper, Jon Parks and an own goal.

In Division Seven Hastings APF started their new season with a 5-2 victory over Punnetts Town.
