BROWNE GETS HIS CARDS AT UNITED

STAND-OUT coach Ian Browne's abuse of referees and linesmen has cost him his first managerial job. Worthing United discontinued his services on Thursday.

He had been cleared by the Sussex FA of two charges of misconduct towards match officials but in one subsequent match, against Chichester, in which he played, he was sent off for a foul, then ordered from the touchline on account of his conduct there.

United chairman Rob McAlees explained: "Ian's contact with the Sussex FA was bugging me. Match officials were not being treated by him properly in this club's matches. Things happened that I did not like and did not expect from the Worthing United first-team manager."
