Burgess Hill Ladies 2nds enjoy 6-1 win

It was a solid team effort from everyone this week and we were feeling confident after our last few wins but knew however that we couldn’t underestimate a youthful Lewes team.
Burgess Hill started the match as they finished it with pretty much all of the pressure we had good early chances to go ahead which were just lacking the final put away until finally, after an unlucky week last week, the first goal was neatly put away by Lucie Venables.

Hide AdLewes quickly got a goal back which was an untidy and unlucky goal mouth scramble for the Burgess Hill defence who were solid for the rest of the match. The first half ended 3-1 to Burgess Hill with a goal from Natalie Watt who showed great pace and strength throughout the match and a second goal for Venables.

Burgess Hill dominated the second half to add three more goals coming from Rosie Chrichton, Natalie Watt, and Venables third getting her first well deserved hat trick of the season.
Next week Burgess Hill 2s face Crowborough who currently top the div two league, with only three points the difference between the top three teams this match could be pivotal in deciding who wins the league overall and Burgess Hill certainly won’t be giving up the fight until the season is over.
