Captain complete!

ALL-ROUNDER Nigel Waller needed his batting talents as well as his seam bowling to win for his Findon side at Broadwater their local derby of two sides below full strength.

After taking five for 35 off 21 overs in the heat, he was advised by team-mate Mark Stewart to come up the order and his captain's 48 at No 6 ensured victory.

Findon, without John Rogers, James Iago and Paul Shackman, beat by four wickets a Broadwater without Joe Owen, Ben McKenzie, Mark Sinsbury, Joe Middleton and Bob Reynolds.

Nigel Waller has shed a 16lb in a wager with Iago and admitted it helped him through the hot afternoon, bowling on a slow wicket with a rapid outfield. He also conceded Findon had a larger playing membership to ride their shortages.
