Carden's late strikes are not enough

SUBSTITUTE Scott Carden's two late goals were not enough for Mile Oak FC to take anything home from Peacehaven on Saturday.

Against the wind in the first half, Oak were glad to go into half-time only 1-0 down. Peacehaven scored a minute before the break when keeper Mark Stewart punched a corner into his own net.

At 0-0, Oak felt they should have been awarded a penalty when Dave Ayre's cross hit a Peacehaven hand. But, after receiving three spot-kicks the previous week for handball, there was no award this time.

Peacehaven doubled their lead on 51 minutes through George Smith junior although Oak thought Smith had pushed Chris Paine in the back prior to the goal.
