Cathedral service will remember a Sussex horse-racing great

A MEMORIAL service for Sussex racing legend Josh Gifford will be held at Chichester Cathedral on Thursday (2pm).

Gifford (above), remembered in the industry for an illustrious career as a jockey and a trainer, died last week aged 70. He had been champion jockey and later trained much-loved Grand National winner Aldaniti – that among many other achievements in the sport.

The memorial service will be followed by a reception with refreshments at Fontwell Park. Anyone who knew Josh is welcome. There was a minute’s silence at Fontwell this Sunday.
