Southern Combination League chairman Steve Nealgrove has said Horsham are back were they belong after sealing promotion.

He has congratulated the Hornets on being crowned SCFL Premier Division champions this afternoon and with that, securing the one and only promotion place back into the Ryman League.

Horsham were relegated from the South Division last season ending their 42-year stay in the Ryman League - but a fantastic season has seen them bounce straight back.

Nealgrove said: “They wanted to get back to Ryman football and no disrespect to anyone, but they don’t deserve to in our league.

“With the history of the club, they are Step 4 or higher. Horsham have always been a club associated with Step 4 or 3 football.

“I am delighted for them. We like to see other clubs promoted from the league, but as a club they needed to bounce back and to do it at the first time of asking is quite an achievement.

“Horsham deserve to be a Step 4 football as that is where their great history is.”
