Clapp leads a Ladies fight back as Horsham have to dig deep
Any thoughts that it would be an easy ride against the Conference East’s bottom side were soon expelled when Chelmsford went 2-0 up in 26 minutes.
Horsham’s top scorer Steph Dent scored a vital goal from open play just before half-time to make it 2-1.

Hide AdSuzy Clapp levelled the scores not long after the restart from a penalty stroke, but the visitors came again and again went ahead, scoring their second penalty corner of the match.
Midfielder Clapp though grabbed her second as she converted a Horsham penalty corner just after the hour, and it stayed 3-3 as both sides settled for a point.
Following last week’s 4-0 win over Ipswich, Horsham are now two unbeaten.
They go into the winter break in eighth position in the Conference East table but on equal points with second-bottom Ipswich.
They now turn their attentions to playing indoor hockey.
