Cricket legends Botham and Warne to swing in for charity tour

Cricket legends Ian Botham and Shane Warne will swing into Mannings Heath Golf Club on Thursday as part of a whirlwind charity tour of the English counties.

Former England captain Sir Ian and Australian spinner Warne will be competing at the tenth Waterfall course, in aid of Beefy’s Charity Foundation.

Visitors can watch the two former captains and their four-ball teams renew the age-old Ashes rivalry on the golf course as they battle it out as part of their 24-hour golf challenge.

They will be attempting to play one hole in each of the 18 cricketing counties across the UK, travelling by helicopter, with Sky Sports cameras on hand to capture all the action on the day.

For an £8 entry ticket, spectators also receive a glass of fine wine from the award-winning Benguela Cove vineyard, which will be sponsoring the hole for the day, and the opportunity to watch two icons of cricket as they race against the clock in aid of charity.

Proceeds from the ticket price include a donation to the golf club’s captain’s charity which is Cardiac Risk in the Young.

The pair are expected to be at Mannings Heath from 1.30pm until 2pm.

Members of the public are invited to apply for tickets directly from the Mannings Heath Pro Shop, which is open at the club in Hammerpond Road from 7am to 6pm weekdays.
