Ansty return to winning ways

Having been put into bat by Eastbourne, Ansty lost two wickets with the score at 15. A stand of 69 by Charlie Rutter and Jethro Menzies restored the home sides confidence but was ended when Menzies was caught for 43.
Jamie Newsome joined Rutter and another 30 was scored for the 4th wicket that of Rutter for 24. Newsome went on to score 43 and Ansty reached 188-8 at the close of their innings.

Hide AdEastbourne found themselves two down for just 6 as Jethro Menzies and Jack Palser opened the attack for the home side. A stand of 48 by Delray Rawlings (24) and Jacob Smith (37) held up Ansty’s progress but when three wickets fell at 74 the visitors found themselves at 74-6. Eastbourne skipper Luke Tomsett (26) and David Twine (20) then, again, delayed the win, but with Jethro Menzies bowling Yodin Punja the match was over with 3.5 overs remaining.
2nd XI
Ansty and Burgess Hill were frustrated as their match was abandoned with Burgess Hill on 116-8. Frequent showers had made the bowlers run ups very wet and unsafe.
For Ansty Leo Anderson took 5-40 with Tom Hadfield 3-34 and for Burgess Hill Matt Charman scored 25 and Dan Woods 23.
3rd XI
Ansty scored 140-7 with Adam Butler and Jamie Weller scoring 29 each. Opener Tom Smith struck 20 and Tom Tyers 16. For Brunswick Village Chris Burton took 3-37.

4th XI
Ansty had an easy win over Lingfield as the home side was bowled out for 52. Charlie Layton took 4-7 and Nick Jarvis 3-11.
Ken Chapman then struck 50 not out as Ansty went on to win by 9 wickets
