Bexhill on the up after great win

BEXHILL climbed off the foot of the Sussex Premier Cricket League with a welcome win over East Grinstead.

A fine performance in the field set up the maximum points success which means Eastbourne now prop up the table, although they have a game in hand on Bexhill.

East Grinstead were skittled out for just 97 in 41.5 overs after being put into bat at The Polegrove.

Off-spinner Jamie Bristow-Diamond was the star with superb figures of 6-20 off 10.5 overs, while Ian Ellis (2-12) and Shawn Johnson (2-27) were the other successful bowlers.

Jack Richardson (18), Johnson (34), Andrew Harriott (24 not out) and captain Malcolm Johnson (16 not out) saw Bexhill to 100-2 off 25.2 overs.
