Bexhill reach T20 Cup semi-finals

Bexhill are through to the semi-finals of the Gray-Nicolls Sussex T20 Cup.

Malcolm Johnson’s side won by 73 runs in their quarter-final away to Haywards Heath on Sunday to complete a good weekend following the league victory over East Grinstead on Saturday.

After losing the toss and being asked to bat, Bexhill scored 139-9 from their 20 overs thanks largely to Andrew Harriott’s 62. Jack Richardson (18) and Callum Guest (14) were the only others in double figures.

See Friday’s Bexhill Observer for a full report. Bexhill will be joined in the last four by Premier League leaders Preston Nomads, Horsham and Division Two top dogs Three Bridges.

Earlier in the day, Hastings Priory chalked up a seven-wicket win away to Heath in the equivalent competition for second teams. Heath made 102-9 batting first and Priory were 105-3 in reply.
