Eastbourne were unbeaten in the competition and won the final, which went to the last over, by 12 runs.

And now Twine, who stepped in f or an unavailable Jacob Smith for the last few games of the tournament, says his side will build on this win - which followed their T20 cup win last season.

Twine said: "We had bad pre-season game [at Cuckfield] but we said after that let's actually take this season seriously and it's a chance to win another cup. We just went for it with every game and felt comfortable we could win it.

"We have got a great set up already and winning cups and doing well in the league will attract more players. Eastbourne is a good club to be at and I can only see us getting stronger."

And it was once again the Lenham brothers Scott and Archie who were the stars of the show. Scott hit 54 before taking 3-26, including bowling the final over, while Archie took 2-10 from five, with both wickets coming in two consecutive balls.

Twine was full of praise for the duo. He said: "For their age they are so mature and so switched on.They know what they are doing before they come on to bowl, come in to bat, they read the situation so well. They have been integral to this win."

The pair well together but slowly to lay a foundation for Eastbourne in their innings. But Twine said: "Particularly for young players in this league you can get bogged down if you are not going well early on. But they know their game so well and they give themselves the time they need."

And did Twine think they had enough at the halfway stage with 207? He said: "We got off to a good start and had them five down early and then they had a couple of good partnerships which made it closer than I thought it would be but in the end we got the wickets at the right time.

"We thought 210 would be a good score so we were slightly under but 200 on the board was good."
