Opening batsman reaches 100 while batting partner is still on 0

Horsham CC are wondering if they are the holders of a new cricket record - an opener reaching 100 while his partner is still 0 not out.

It happened in Horsham under-18s match against Horley CC yesterday (Jul 27).

Horley were all out for 157 and in the reply Joe Willis raced to three figures and was eventually out for 103, including nine sixes and 11 fours.

At the point where he got to 100 opening partner Alfred Haines was not off the mark - though did go on to score 9 as Horsham won the match by seven wickets.
