Sussex name squad for County Championship opener

SUSSEX have named their squad for the opening game of the new season, starting tomorrow morning at The Oval against Surrey.

A strong finish to the LV=CC season in 2011 saw Sussex finish in fifth position, while the hosts return to the top-flight after ending last season in Division Two’s second spot.

There is a twelve-man squad heading to the Oval which sees both Monty Panesar and Matt Prior missing due to their involvement with the England team in Sri Lanka.

Luke Wright is playing in the Indian Premier League for Pune Warriors whilst overseas signing Steve Magoffin will not be available until the second match of the season.
