Sussex paceman misses out on England Test debut

Ollie Robinson must wait for his England Test debut - after he was overlooked for his debut today in the light of teammate Jofra Archer's ban from the team.

Robinson was tipped to be drafted into the side when Archer was banned from the Test and forced to self-isolate after breaking Covid-19 bio-secure protocols between the first Test at the Ageas Bowl and the trip to Old Trafford.

But England instead went with an attack of Chris Woakes, Sam Curran and Stuart Broad - meaning it's a totally different new-ball attack to the trio that played in the first Test.

Robinson's turn in Test cricket will surely come - it's his consistent wicket-taking efforts for Sussex over the past couple of years that have forced the England camp to take notice of him and bring him into their wider group.

But for now, his wait goes on.
