Sussex versus Kent match abandoned

THE CB40 clash between Sussex and Kent at Arundel Castle today (July 16) has been abandoned without a ball being bowled.

The umpires called the match off after a 1.30pm inspection owing to a wet outfield caused by heavy rain over the weekend plus light rain this morning.

Both teams will take a point each from the game, with the point taking Sussex back to the top of Group C – a point clear of Warwickshire who have a game in hand.

Sussex will be hoping for better weather for the rest of the week as the County Championship match with Durham begins at Arundel on Wednesday (July 18) and the CB40 clash with Northamptonshire takes place on Sunday (July 22).
