Triumphant day for cricketers

Hastings Priory won away to Three Bridges in the Premier League, while Bexhill ended the unbeaten record of Division Two high-flyers Eastbourne and Crowhurst Park continued their encouraging start in the same division away to Pulborough.

Priory bowled out bottom-of-the-table Bridges for 204 with Kyle Adcock taking three wickets, and spinners Mick Glazier and Jack Coleman two apiece. Despite losing two of their top three batsmen without scoring, Priory got home by five wickets with Freddie Hulbert hitting 66 not out, Tom Gillespie 45 and Adam Maharaj-Newman 43.

Johnathan Haffenden hit 91 and Tim Hambridge 44 not out off 34 balls as Bexhill posted 247-4 batting first. Andrew Williams then bagged five wickets and Josh Beeslee four to bowl Eastbourne out for 141.

Crowhurst Park amassed 235-5 batting first with Dale Payne scoring 81 and Clive Tong 76. Paul Brookes then continued his fine form with the ball by taking four wickets with Ed Smissen claiming three and Bradley Payne two.
