CUP EXIT AT THE FIRST ROUND

SOUTHWICK'S Sussex Senior Cup campaign ended at the first hurdle at home to Chichester on Saturday.

Goalkeeper Ben Counsell again starred for Wickers and saved another penalty '” his fifth spot-kick save of the season, although he was beaten from the spot for the first time this season later in the match.

Wickers were without injured strikers Dan Merideth (knee-ligaments) and Mark Alwright (broken arm) but boss Chris Webber has boosted his side with the signing of strikers Warren Levy, Joe Washington and Sol Bowra. Bowra has been signed predominantly as a youth-team player but Levy and Washington have been brought in to boost Wickers' strike-force.
