O’Sullivan reached the final of European Tour event seven, the Antwerp Open, last weekend, while Davis lost 4-3 in his opening match against 78th-ranked Thanawat Tirapongpaiboon.

Davis edged the first frame on the black only to lose the next two with his opponent making breaks of 71 and 68. World number 13 Davis won the fourth on the black and a 60 at the start of the fifth gave him a 3-2 lead, but he scored just 27 points in the subsequent two frames.
