THE RESTORATION of The Clifton as champions of the Sussex Sunday League followed a point in the season when it looked as though their prime status in Worthing Sunday morning soccer looked almost lost.

Yet at the end of it all they are ready to become almost certainly the first Sussex club to enter the FA Sunday Cup.

Secretary and club saviour Dominic Di Paola, whose tireless work as team manager took the weight off boss Mark Wood's shoulders and allowed him to coach, confirmed this week that The Clifton will represent Worthing in the national knock-out competition of "the morning-after soccer".
