Eaton strikes a quickfire treble

PAUL EATON grabbed an eight-minute first-half hat-trick to end Mile Oak Football Club's five-game losing run and send the holders into the Division 2 Cup second round.

Top-scorer Eaton, recalled to the starting line-up after three games on the bench, opened the scoring on 20 minutes.

Strike-partner Scott Carden broke through and after his effort was saved by Saltdean's keeper, Eaton mis-hit the ball but it still found its way into the back of the net.

It was 2-0 four minutes later. Eaton met Jamie Ash's corner with a flick at the near post to score.

Eaton completed his hat-trick on 28 minutes with a cool finish from Ash's through pass.

Oak had chances to extend their lead further before an error by keeper Richard Whittington gifted Saltdean a goal back on 35 minutes.
