One of the first teams to make sure of their entry is in were senior race champions DSTL Systems from Portsdown, who appear to have an even-stronger squad than usual.

They will be sure to feature in the corporate rankings but there will be also much competition in the sports categories with county runners from across the south coast expected to challenge local athletes.

This year’s South of England cross-country bronze medallist Emma Macready will surely be the one to beat in the women’s race and there already signs of a good men’s field being assembled.

Team managers are urged to submit their entries early – forms are on the Chichester Runners website and on the club noticeboard at Westgate Leisure.

The schools races are also certain to be well supported so another three hectic evenings are anticipated on the Wednesdays of February 25 and March 11 and 25.
