EP HIT WICKERS FOR FOUR

AS GREAT results go, it probably doesn't get much better than this. East Preston, on their return to first division action and already dumped 6-0 by champions Burgess Hill went to Old Barn Way on Saturday and turned over a strong Southwick side.

Wickers finished the first half with 10 men and the match with nine, but for differing reasons.

Debutant Damian Webber, returning to the club where he spent part of last season under Sammy Donnelly's management, was sent off by Hove official Paul Saunders for reported violent conduct a head butt on David Hall with four minutes left in the first half and Wickers already 2-0 down.

It was a pretty good start for EP, but a disastrous one for Southwick keeper Lee Bray, who took too long over clearing a back-pass and watched the ball cannon back off Dave Walker and nestle in the net after just four minutes.
