EP TURN RUN ROUND

A SOLID batting display by the East Preston top order gained them their first win in four games on Saturday, when they successfully chased 201 for victory.

The triumph was built on an opening stand of 97 between Peter Dallimore and captain Steve Bennett.

Both struck eight fours in their respective innings and Dallimore was eventually caught behind off Richard Nunn for exactly 50.

A run later, and Bennett was on his way, bowled by Nunn for 41, but then Colin Smith and Ben Candy took over the reins and added 56 for the third wicket.

Kevin Smith took the lead in the final chase for the points, with an undefeated 29, ending the match in the penultimate over.
