Stabler said: "I don't mind doing it until the end of this season, but after that I just can't do both jobs again.

"We put it all to bed over Christmas and will deal with it in the new year. We're having a meeting next week to decide which way we should go. Either, I take over as manager and we get someone in as chairman, or we'll look for a new manager."

Wick's home match with Three Bridges on Tuesday was postponed owing to a waterlogged pitch.

Several of the matches on Boxing Day were also postponed owing to waterlogged pitches, which means some teams have not played since the middle of December.

Littlehampton travel to basement side Midhurst on Saturday and joint boss Gary Young said: "We're just looking forward to getting back playing and getting a full squad available. We're looking to get up into mid-table in the new year and have a run in the Division 2 Cup."

Lancing manager hopes to sign left-sided midfielder Mo Shuga'a in time for Saturday's match at new Division 2 leaders Loxwood.

Rustington hope to have Steve Kirkham, Lee Gibbs and Ryan Morten all back available for Saturday's game at Sidley. Blues joint manager Kevin Short said: "The most important thing now is to get to 40 points. I'll be happy then."

With Worthing United's Boxing Day home clash with Oakwood off, Loxwood leapfrogged them to take top spot in Division 2, much to joint manager Jason Rutherford's frustration.

He said: "We have a couple of cup games now and it gives the other sides a chance to pull away. It's frustrating as I would much rather get the points on the board than have the games in hand."

United travel to Clymping in the Division 2 Cup on Saturday. This is the re-arranged tie after the first game was abandoned at half-time.

Storrington's home match with Steyning Town on Boxing Day was postponed owing to a waterlogged pitch. Swans travel to Southwick on Saturday, while Town are at Wealden.
