FOOTBALL: County League round-up (August 19)

ARUNDEL earned themselves a place in the preliminary round of the FA Cup against Ryman League Worthing, as well as £750 prize money on Saturday, with a 4-1 win over Hailsham.

Other local sides, Wick and East Preston, however, were not so lucky as they both exited at the first hurdle.

On Mullets' tie at Worthing, assistant manager Simon Butler said: "It'll be a good game, they've got a few of our old players playing for them, including Josh Biggs, so it will be a stern test for us, but one we'll all be up for."

Darren Lok crossed for Craig Brown to sidefoot home the second 10 minutes later and and Lok was again the provider for Aaron Phillips shortly after half-time.

Burgess won EP a penalty to get back in the game soon afterwards but Keiron Howard's spot-kick hit the post.

Ringmer got their fourth with eight minutes left when Brown's shot deflected in off Jamie Stideford, but EP got a consolation on 87 minutes when Jamie McCloud won and converted a penalty.
