FOOTBALL: County League round-up (March 21)

WICK closed the gap on County League leaders Eastbourne UA to just two points on Saturday (March 21) after their 2-1 win over Oakwood.

Julian Curnow got the winner from the penalty spot with nine minutes left, after John Lawson had given Wick a ninth-minute lead.

Eastbourne went down 2-1 at Redhill.

Arundel moved into fifth place with a 2-0 home victory against St Francis with goals from Jason Wimbleton and Gary Norgate.

East Preston remain in the relegation zone after a 2-0 defeat at home to fourth-bottom East Grinstead, who are now four points ahead of EP.

Bottom-of-the-table Worthing United drew 2-2 at Lingfield with goals from Matt Russell and Ben Boutwood.

Shoreham are now eighth in Division 1 after a 2-0 win over Hassocks on Friday with goals from Dean Smith and Owen Callaghan.

Mile Oak moved to within two points of leaders Peacehaven in Division 2 after their 1-0 success at Loxwood. Graham Martin hit the only goal on 30 minutes.

Peacehaven went down 1-0 at Rustington, for whom Craig Cox got the winner midway through the second half.

James Wotherspoon hit his second hat-trick in successive games for Southwick in their 5-1 win over Lancing. John Elliott and Nick Heffenden also netted for Wickers, while Ryan Loversidge was on target for Lancers.

Gareth Dutton struck a brace for Steyning Town in their 4-0 win at bottom-club Sidlesham. Chris Duffett also netted for Town, who were 3-0 ahead at half-time.

Storrington remain second from bottom after their 5-1 defeat at Wealden, while mid-table Littlehampton crashed 6-0 at Crawley Down.

Clymping kept their two point lead at the top of Division 3 after a 4-1 win over Saltdean. Paul Brown, Dominic Di Paola, Aaron Meehan and Simon Corona scored for Clymping.
