FOOTBALL: Former Albion captain Danny Cullip's weekly column (November 26)

UNFORTUNATELY, we weren't able to carry on our great start under the new management team against Leeds on Saturday.

Leeds are setting the standard in the league, and that's the standard that we will strive to get to but it's not something that can be achieved over-night.

The game against Norwich was a chance for the players to get Saturday's result out of their system but Norwich also proved to be tough opponents.

These are great games to be playing in and I admit I'm jealous when I see the club involved in all these fantastic matches.

Charlie Oatway has been helping out with the first team and has been learning a lot and really been enjoying it. In a few years time, maybe that will be something I'll look to get involved with.

But, at the moment, I'm really enjoying working for Albion in the Community and all our various programmes.

The Personal Best programme is still going really well and our class all did stewarding work at the FA Cup game against Wycombe last Wednesday.

It was a great night for all of them. They got taken around the ground, into the changing rooms and on to the pitch.

They all also got a "Hola, Gus" t-shirt, which the club were giving away, and all wore them in to the course on Thursday.

They all really enjoyed the day and another member of our class has now got a stewarding job.

Being superstitious, I'm trying to get all of them to do voluntary stewarding for our FA Cup game against Rushden & Diamonds on Saturday as well now.

Worthing College had another two cup games last week. Our match on Friday was postponed, but we won 4-1 in the Sussex Cup quarter-finals against a school from East Grinstead on Wednesday.

I can't remember their name as, being a centre back, I've taken too many knocks to the head.

It's brilliant for the boys to reach the semi-finals and I've heard that if they get to the final, they'll all be wearing white suits, similar to what Liverpool wore in one of their FA Cup finals.

With all their dodgy jewellery, mainly all the ear rings, our boys reckon they are the Spice Boys anyway, so it should suit them.
