For a long time there was only Ollier Rawlins’ goal in it – but a late burst from the Barrowmen saw them add four more through Tad Bromage, Alex Brewer and Jared Rance (2) to complete a 5-0 win.
That was enough to keep Steyning top and Shoreham bottom.
The Barrowmen are three points ahead of Haywards Heath Town at the summit having played a game more – with the sides’ Easter Monday meeting at the Hanbury looking increasingly like the pivotal game – while Shoreham are a point behind Lancing at the foot and now five points behind Varndeanians, who they also need to overtake to stay up.
