Crawley Town technical director Erdem Konyar has said Saturday's FA Cup tie with Bournemouth is definitely off.

The Reds postponed yesterday's league match with Stevenage because of a Covid outbreak at the club.

And now Konyar says Saturday's FA Cup game will also be postponed, even though the club could probably field a side.

He said: "If we were allowed to play we could play on Saturday but we are not allowed to due to the government guidelines that we are facing at the moment.

"It's 100 per cent off but the more important thing is the well-being of the players. We are just waiting for testing on Friday and Sunday and being guided by the doctors and EFL as we go along.

"Hopefully we will all be ok and we will get there."

And in an earlier interview with Sky Sports when asked if he feared he would have to put out a weakened squad, he said: "Obviously if we have more cases on Friday and Sunday then yes, that's something we'll have to look at.

"But we don't have an active under-23s (team), we don't have an under-18s, we've got a 30-man squad and we've got youth players in there.

"If we have to do that, then we have to do that. But we'll cross that bridge when we get there and hopefully we can get past these testings on Friday and Sunday for us to compete on Tuesday."
