Albion won’t get Carter but are keen on Lafferty

The Seagulls are looking to sign Derry’s former Northern Ireland under 21 full-back Danny Lafferty as competition for Marcos Painter.

The need to recruit extra defensive cover has become more important since the recent retirement of assistant boss Mauricio Taricco.

Brighton take on Championship rivals Millwall tonight and will be looking to end a run of seven matches without a win in all competitions.
