Striker Florin Andone said he felt the love from Brighton & Hove Albion's fans before getting the only goal in Saturday's win against Huddersfield.

The 25-year-old Romanian international returned to the matchday squad after a three-game ban and came off the bench to net the only goal 11 minutes from time.

It was Andone's first appearance for four weeks and the forward was delighted with the reaction he received from Albion's fans.

He said: "I was very happy because when I went to do the warm-up the people received me very nicely.

"They sang my name and that is very important for me because they love me. For me it's more confidence and when I go on the pitch I give 100 per cent."

On his goal against the Terriers, his fifth for Brighton since joining from Deportivo last summer, Andone said: "Sometimes you are there and at the moment I went to the front post for the header.

"It was a goal and I'm very happy with the victory. The most important was the three points because now we are five points clear of relegation and that is the most important for us."

Brighton's win against Huddersfield moved them five points clear of the Premier League relegation zone but fighting the drop is something Andone is used to.

He has battled against relegation with Cordoba and Deportivo in recent seasons and on Albion's battle to stay up he said: "I'm used to it. With Cordoba we had problems, with Deportivo two seasons in a row I had problems also, so I'm used to it.

"This is not new to me. I'm used to playing around the last position in the table and it's like one match more.

"I have big experience in these games and have played a lot of games with this pressure."
