Arundel beat Hailsham to reach final

ARUNDEL Football Club are through to their first cup final for 11 years after a 4-2 extra-time victory over Hailsham in the Peter Bentley Cup semi-finals last night.

The Mullets will meet either Chichester or Newhaven in the final on May 4 and Arundel assistant manager Craig Stuart said: “It’s massive for the club to reach a final.

“It will be a good day out and we don’t mind who we face. We’ll just go out and enjoy the day.”

Goals from Scott Tipper and Asa Nicholson gave Mullets a 2-0 lead but Hailsham fought back to force extra-time – after Arundel’s Max Thoms had a penalty saved at 2-1.

Tipper struck again in the additional 30 minutes, before Barney Boutwood sealed the win late on, seconds after Hailsham hit a post.
