Golds suffered a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of ten-man AFC Uckfield Town on Tuesday as they slipped a place to fourth-bottom in the table.

Rivals Arundel have been resurgent in recent weeks winning their past two matches to leave them just a point and place below Littlehampton heading into Saturday’s battle at The Sportsfield.

Given where both teams currently sit in the table, Golds boss Baker believes this could be one of the biggest games between the two in recent times.

He said: “After our home defeat against AFC Uckfield, I’d say this is our biggest game of the season now.

“In our past two matches we’ve created so many chances but only taken a point. We’re still in and around the danger zone in this division, as our Arundel, so Saturday is going to be a real scrap.”

Barry Pidgeon, who was sacked as Mullets joint manager back in December, is now part of Golds’ coaching staff.

Another reason Baker believes will add extra spice.

He added: “Barry’s now with us, so I’m sure that will add something extra. It’s going to be a massive game for both teams.”
