Bexhill discover disciplinary fate

Defender Zack McEniry was found guilty of three charges, including the abandonment of the game, and was fined £40 and given a 21-day suspension.

Secretary Dane Martin was found not guilty of causing the abandonment of the game, but guilty of misconduct and was fined £200, of which £100 is suspended.

Manager Gerard Moyse was found not guilty of causing the abandonment of the game, but guilty of misconduct and was fined £30.

Bexhill, as a club, were found not guilty of causing the abandonment of the game, but guilty of not controlling their players and officials. They were fined £50 and given five disciplinary points.

The controversial Sussex County Football League Division Two match, which took place on Saturday February 5, was abandoned during the second half after McEniry refused to leave the field when red carded, but was restarted around 20 minutes later.

Mile Oak scored two late goals to win 4-2, ending Bexhill’s unbeaten run of 14 league matches. Bexhill also had James Doswell sent-off and accused the home supporters of throwing bottles onto the pitch.
