Bognor Regis Town, Horsham and Littlehampton Town net first-day Isthmian League wins

Littlehampton Town won their first ever game in the Isthmian League with a 3-2 success at Faversham - while Horsham and Bognor got heir premier division campaigns off to winning starts.

All eyes were on the Golds, playing at step four for the first time after promotion from the SCFL last season and they took the step up in their stride as Jordan Layton, Aaron Capon and Marshall Ball scored for them after the Kent hosts had taken the lead.

Faversham pulled it back to 3-2 late on but Mitch Hand and George Gaskin's men held on for a debut win in the south east division.

In the premier division a goal by Pompey loanee Alfie Bridges was enough to earn Bognor a 1-0 home win over Hornchurch, while Daniel Ajakaiye (2) and Jack Mazzone put Horsham 3-0 up at Canvey, with the home side only able to pull one back.

Promoted Hastings began with a defeat, a late Aveley goal sealing their fate after Kai Brown had cancelled out Aveley's opener. Lewes began with a draw, Ronan Silva on target in a 1-1 draw at Wingate and Finchley.

In the south east Callum Overton;s goal earned Chichester City a draw at Sheppey but there were defeats for Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill - beaten 2-1 at VCD and 1-0 at home to Ashford respectively. Heath's scorer was Alahady Ibrahaim Jalloh.

Two Tyrone Madhani goals put Lancing 1-0 and 2-1 up at home to Beckenham but they lost 3-2, while Three Bridges went down 1-0 at Sevenoaks. There was a better start for East Grinstead and Whitehawk - EG beat Chatham 1-0 after Tahjae Anderson scored, and Whitehawk won 2-1 at home to Sittingbourne, thanks to goals from Joe Shelley and Javaun Splatt.

In the SCFL premier Midhurst are top after a 1-0 home win over Eastbourne Town. There were also wins for Hassocks, Bexhill, Crawley Fown Gatwick, Eastbourne United, Peacehaven, AFC Varndeanians and Horsham YMCA.
