Bognor sponsors' draw delayed as entries flood in

A very welcome late flurry of interest for the draw means it will now take place on Thursday, September 3 and will be a virtual event brought to supporters on Rocks social media platforms from the club's events venue, Seasons, at Nyewood Lane. It'll start at 7.30pm.

Manager Jack Pearce and coach Robbie Blake have overseen a three-match winning streak in pre-season friendly matches and last week secured the services of talented defender Joe Cook for the upcoming season, which kicks off on September 19.

General manager Simon Cook says fans seem excited at the prospect of a return to football and thinks this may have helped with the surge of interest to the draw. The main winner on the night will be first-team shirt sponsors and there are many other prizes up for grabs including match and match ball packages.

And Cook explained: "Following the amazing fundraising effort in which fans raised more than £50,000 we thought that to ask once more for support in the shape of the sponsors' draw would be challenging but the response has been incredible. So much so, in fact, that we have left it open until Wednesday to help with the administration and to give fans the chance to enter over the next few days if they should so wish."

Commercial manager Dave Robinson says he is working hard to collate the entries, along with co-ordinator Laura Denby, and says he is encouraged by the number of firms who are taking part. Companies can have one entry for £180, two for £250, or three for £300.
