Bosham make their point - and beat Hurstpierpoint

Bosham were up for the challenge of avenging the disappointing 1-0 defeat at Hurstpierpoint earlier in the season - and took revenge with a 4-2 in the Sussex League third-division return match at Walton Lane.

Joint managers Tony Hancock and Tommy Evans set out their stall with a 4-3-3 formation, which included Joe Hancock spending a second week between the sticks.

The Reds made early dominance tell with a good strike from skipper Bradley Miles. Not long later, the lively Kieran Hartley added a second.

As the first half neared its end, Hurstpierpoint conceded a third to James Ash.

The second half saw Bosham eased off the gas a bit and the visitors took advantage to get on the scoresheet at the game entered its last quarter.

James Bracher restored the three-goal lead in the dying minutes before Hurstpierpoint struck a soft second in injury time.

The management were delighted with the performance and look forward to hosting Haywards Heath at home on Saturday.
