Boss Simon keeps intouch and so doeshis new-look team

Heath boss Simon Corless missed Saturday’s game because of his daughter’s third birthday but kept up to date with regular phone calls through to Hanbury Park.

He also spoke to all the players by phone on the morning of the match in order to get them focused on a game which he felt could turn into an unlikely banana skin.

But Jamie Wanstall’s 14th minute strike settled nerves and Kieran Purkis added the crucial second just before half time.

Blues tailed off markedly in the second half but still doubled their tally as Purkis struck twice to complete his hat-trick and take his tally to 17 this season. It was his second hat-trick in four games and made it 13 goals in the last 10 matches.

It was a comfortable win that enabled Heath to keep pace with leaders Sidlesham, who visit them this Saturday and will be looking to make it third time lucky after two defeats against Corless’ team since the turn of the year.

Heath: Hyde; Harding, Rabbetts, Feist, Hall; Reed, Mobsby, Ranson, Wanstall; Peacock, Purkis.

Middy Starman: Striker Ben Hall who came in and did a great job at left back in a side without Lucas, Bygraves, Tuckey and Williamson.
