Brighton and Leeds United emerge as CONTENDERS to sign ex-Barcelona and AC Milan forward

The Seagulls have already signed England international Adam Lallana on a free transfer following the expiration of his Liverpool contract, alongside Dutch defender Joel Veltman and Wigan Atheltic teenager Jensen Weir.

However, bookmakers Paddy Power are offering odds on ex-Everton and Barcelona forward Gerard Deulofeu swapping Watford's Vicarage Road for the Amex Stadium during the summer window.

The 26-year-old four-time Spain international has enjoyed a solid career, starting out at Barcelona before developing further at Everton, Sevilla, AC Milan and Watford.

Despite Deulofeu’s best efforts, Watford were relegated from the Premier League in 19th position and just one point from safety, which has thrown doubt over the attacker’s long-term future.

Interestingly, Brighton have been installed as 17/2 contenders by Paddy Power to complete a deal during the transfer window.

Of course, this could all just be bookmaker speak and it is – at the time of writing – unclear whether or not Potter’s mooted interest in the forward is genuine or just speculation.
